2015

Happy New Years and I guess Happy Birthday to myself. Hehe! :)

This blog has been neglected for quite some time. A lot of things has happened for 2014. I got a job in healthcare in mid Jan thanks to my boyfriend at his company. It was a great opportunity to get my foot into the door in healthcare. Only down side it was 1.5 hours commute each way. The first half of 2014 flown by so fast. I learned a lot and did a lot. However, I wasn't seeing any career advancement with the company so I started applying elsewhere in late August and early September. I wasn't really actively looking after September and pretty much forgot about the jobs I applied to. Then mid October came and I was getting calls for interviews and landed a job. I was shocked at how fast things turned around and by November I was at my new job. I do however missed my coworkers from my previous company.

On top of that I also got into the MHA program for my masters and was taking classes by spring. It was one hectic year.

Aside from job and grad school, I did a lot of baking (mostly macarons). I had a lot of success in making macarons in 2013 and started taking orders here and there. But toward the end of 2014, my macarons been failing. I have no idea what's wrong and have been trying different methods to figure out what's wrong. I guess I'll keep trying until I get it right again.  Lol.

Anyways, for 2015, I should finish all the require courses for my masters and apply for graduation in 2016. I will try to blog more, exercise more and eat healthy.

That's all for tonight.

Good night!

Sephora Birthday Gift/Purchases/VIB Box

Happy 2013 everyone!

Woah, I haven't been keeping up with my blog. My last post was in 2011! Yikes!! I'll try to blog more often since I'm still currently looking for a job. >< Job market is horrible right now. It's so hard to even land on an interview. :( Post college is worst than being in school (well, only if you're jobless and loans repayments are kicking in).

Anyways, enough of post college talk. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and my best friend got me a gift card to Sephora and as you all know Sephora have a brand new birthday gift, it was perfect timing for me to use the gift card and get the gift as well. I purchased two things, I bought the Eyeko mascara and eyeliner set and a Tarte blush in Blissful. As I was checking out, I got a surprised. When they gave me my birthday gift, the rang the bell and yelled out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" which was surprising. I don't think I remember the Sephora I went to last year did that. Also, I'm on the VIB list again for this year and they me a little gift. The weird thing is that my best friend is also on the VIB list but she didn't get one. I'm not sure is it selective or the person who rung her up just didn't give her one. O.O?

As you can see, there's a coupon for 10% off your purchase, free shipping coupon (although I don't think that was quite useful since they offer free shipping if you purchase over $50 and which in my case I always do), a free 45 minutes makeup session with a beauty expert, and lastly an updated beauty insider card. It also comes with a mirror with VIB Beauty Insider printed on it (the last picture).

Lastly, here's some pictures of the items I bought and the birthday gift.

The birthday gift is from Benefit and it comes with a highlighter and a mascara. I have yet to try them so I'll update again when I do. I did try the mascara from Eyeko and it does lengthen my eyelashes, however, it doesn't hold curls. :( My eyelashes went stick straight after 10 minutes of application. :( So that was bummer for me. I haven't try the eyeliner yet so I'll update again after trying it. The Tarte blush is very pigmented and I just need a little bit for the color to show. This is definitely a pretty color for everyday look. I'm sure most of you guys already know from other makeup gurus. Well that's it for today. I'll try to post more often for this year. :)

Meeting Lisa, owner of HQCD

Hi, so yesterday I finally got a chance to meet Lisa, owner of HQCD. Lisa decided to hand me the jewelries I ordered in person and so we can hang out for a bit (we go to the school). We went to get tapioca and talked. OMG, Lisa is such an amazing person. She's super friendly and really easy to talk to. I had a really great time just hanging out with her. Too bad we couldn't hang out earlier during the school year, but it's okay, it was great to finally being able to meet Lisa. I also got to go to her apartment and met Achilles. He's so adorable and cute!! Definitely one of the nicest cat I've ever seen. While I was there, I got to try some onigiri that Lisa made. They were delicious! I always wanted to make some but never got a chance to, now I definitely want to make some. They're so good! ^^ Thank you Lisa!! :) I just realized I forgot to take a picture with Lisa, :(, hopefully next time. :)
Okay, here are the jewelries I got from Lisa, Lisa also gave me a couple of feather charm while I was there at her apartment. Thank you so much Lisa. <3

These earrings so pretty! Perfect for spring time!
Here's the model picture, really pretty!
I got myself a set of cuff earrings. I absolutely love the color of the swarovski crystal. Unfortunately, the cuff part is a little big.

Model picture, it took me awhile to get the cuff to stay. LOL.
Last but not least, the feather earrings. OMG! I fell in love with these. They're so pretty and long. LOL. I like long earrings. :P

Model picture, look at how long they are. So pretty!

A close up of the feathers. I love the magenta feather!

A full face with the earrings. They look so nice!
These are the charms Lisa gave me when I was at her house. The feathers apparently didn't work out for earrings, so she didn't want to waste them and gave them to me. She even added a heart crystal and pearl.
When Lisa first did her vlog, I mention that I was having some problems with my skin, and Lisa gave this facial cleanser to me along with my earrings. Omg! Thank you so much Lisa! You're so nice!! <3

Overall, I was really happy with my jewelries I got from Lisa and meeting Lisa was a fun experience. I hope to hang soon!! ^^

Birthday Card

Hi, I have another post today or should I say tonight. Tomorrow, 3/12 will be my bf's birthday. I didn't really know what to get him and he didn't specifically say what he wanted, so I decided to make a card for him. This card is very special because it's not just a regular card, it's a star book card. So does this mean its in a shape of a star? No, not exactly. When the card is close, it looks like a book, however, once you open it, it becomes a star. ^^ I know, kinda hard to imagine ( I will provide pictures later). Anyways, this card took me roughly 3 hours to make! So I was really happy with the final results. Okay, pictures time. ^^

The front of the card.

The back of the card.

This is what it looks like when it's open. ^^
Okay, good night!

HQCD Kawaii Lollis Earrings

Hi! I have another HQCD earrings I want to review today. It's the Kawaii Lollis Earrings! OMG! They're absolutely gorgeous and adorable! I fell in love with them when I first saw it! I have to admit I'm not a big fan of gold jewelries but these earrings are too cute to not love! I'm starting to like gold jewelries more and more because Lisa comes up with so many gorgeous designs that I can't seem to not love! I do admit I'm really addicted to her jewelries because they're absolutely gorgeous and I can assure that they're all top qualities! I really can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can wear them with my summer clothing! They'll definitely bring some highlights to my outfits. ^^ Okay, here are some pictures of them! :)

The packaging! There was a ribbon tied to the box but I opened it before I took the pictures and I couldn't tied the ribbon back nicely. >.< I also got a clay mask and a regular mask from Lisa! Thank you so much!!

Chinese New Year Dinner

Hello! Last week was Chinese New Year, and I had a family dinner on Friday. It was something simple with my family without relatives for the first time. We usually have dinner with all of our relatives but this year my parents wanted to be us only. It was something different but still enjoyable. Anyways, here are some pictures of the dinner.

My outfit for the dinner. ^^

My lovely parents.

My sister Jennifer.

Toki Doki Makeup Palette and Bobbi Brown Blush

Hi! I haven't updated my blog since last year of November??? I've been pretty busy with school and I guess I was just too lazy and tired to update my blog. >.< I know, I'm a bad blogger. Anyways, today I wanted to do a review on a eye shadow palette by Toki Doki and a blush from Bobbi Brown. First off, I wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of Toki Doki! I just can't resist their stuff, they're so adorable!! I got their Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette in Mozzarella and it comes with a cute charm. ^^ OMG, I gotta say I love it! The eye shadows are so pigmented! I was really shock at how pigmented they are. I got this specific one because I tend to do a natural look and the browns definitely fits my need. And, if I ever want to spike it up a little, I can use the blue. ^^ Here are pictures of the packaging and swatches.

Isn't the box cute?
Inside the palette.

Swatches, without flash.

With flash.
I forgot to take a picture of the charm so here's a picture that I got online. :D

The charm is so cute! ^^

I also I got a blush from Bobbi Brown. I got the Shimmer Brick in Nectar. I notice this blush is really popular so when Sephora starting selling Bobbi Brown cosmetics, I decided to get one and try. I'm really glad I did because I really like this blush. It comes with 5 bars of different shades that you can use as a highlighter or a as a blush. It's definitely a great blush to use when you want a peachy look. However, I must say the packaging is a little too bulky for a blush. It's not something I would like to carry around when traveling. But other than that I like the product. Here are a couple of pictures of the blush.

I also got a haircut last weekend since my bangs was growing out and it was getting into my eyes. That is something that annoys me because it bothers me when I'm in class taking notes or when I'm doing homework. Since Chinese New Years was also coming up, I thought it would be a perfect timing to cut my hair. I mostly wanted to cut my bangs, and I told the stylist to slightly layer and thin out my hair. However, he thin out my hair like crazy...>.< At least he kept the length, but I guess I'm happy with it. My head does feel a lot lighter now that most of my thick hair are gone. Anyways, here's a picture the day I got it cut. Btw, I'm not wearing any makeup!

Enjoy your weekend everyone. ^^
